Description:

The Small Business Development Center at UW-Milwaukee serves Milwaukee, Ozaukee and Washington counties distinguishes itself from other organizations by providing outstanding counseling services, quality training programs and in-depth knowledge of the resources available to business owners and entrepreneurs.

Services - Counseling

Experienced counselors impart important lessons learned and bring that learning into reality for SBDC clients. Equally important is the help SBDC clients get to make the right decisions to avoid costly mistakes and failure. If you're an owner or manager of an established business and you have specific performance issues, you may benefit from free, one-on-one consultation with SBDC business counselors. Counselors can help you understand how to solve specific business problems or capitalize on business opportunities.

Training

SBDC instructors have real world experience and know how to convey practical knowledge in an informative and easy to understand manner. SBDC offers a wide range of business management seminars for startup and established companies. Seminars are an excellent value. Fees cover materials and instruction. Program instructors are business people who own or work with small businesses daily.

Resources

SBDC clients are connected to valuable resources (ie. sources of financing, technology, service providers, etc). The SBDC stays abreast of new programs and opportunities that can benefit you. As a result, you have timely access to the latest developments and best practices to apply toward business success.

For 25 years, the Wisconsin SBDC network has educated state entrepreneurs –beginners and veterans alike –through an array of low-cost classes and no-cost confidential counseling.
